Carolina Panthers lose to New York Giants

Eli Manning, quarterback for the New York Giants, threw for 172 yards and three touchdown passes as the Giants snapped their four-game losing streak.  The Giants are now 7-6 and in a three-way tie with Atlanta and Philadelphia for the NFC Wild Card.  Chris Weinke started in place of the injured Delhomme and seemed to be in a hurry to make up for lost ground, completing 34-of-61 passes for a club-record 423 yards and a touchdown.  He was intercepted three times.

Time could very easily be running out for the Carolina Panthers, who have now lost three in a row.  Keyshawne Johnson said before the game that this was a “one-and-done” game.  Win, and the Panthers still have a shot.  Lose, and their season is done.

Carolina Panthers fall to Philadelphia Eagles

The Carolina Panthers lost Monday night, 27-24, against an Eagles team that managed a late-game rally to take home the W.  Things looked bleak for the Eagles two weeks ago when Donovan McNabb went down with a season-ending torn ACL and was replaced by Jeff Garcia.  Though he struggled through the first-half against a Panthers defense that consisted of NFL sack-leader Julius Peppers chasing him nearly every play, Garcia finished 21-of-39 with 312 yards.  The Carolina Panthers will take on the New York Giants this weekend at home.  Carolina Panthers Tickets to the Giants game cost anywhere between $50 and $800.

Things just never seem to go the Panthers way, but they are still tied for the wild-card in the NFC.  The scary news now for Panthers fans is that Jake Delhomme may have a sprained right thumb.  He sat out of practice on Tuesday after hurting his thumb early in the game against Philadelphia.  Although he toughed it out to finish the game and managed to throw three touchdown passes, he also threw two crucial interceptions that cost Carolina the game.  X-rays after the game revealed no serious injury.

This was the team that everybody had called in the NFC to go all the way, and now the Panthers find themselves with a poor record of 6-5 as they now sit in second place behind the New Orleans Saints. For a while, the highlight reel to this game didn’t appear too promising. Two blocked punts and a catch by Steve Smith at the back of the end zone were the only plays to write home about. Carolina Panthers defeat St. Louis Rams

The Carolina Panthers shut down the St. Louis Rams this weekend at Bank of America Stadium by a score of 15-0 in front of 66,310 fans. While the offense scored all the points they needed, you have to hand this one to the defense. The Panthers held the Rams to a dismal 111 total yards of offense and quarterback Marc Bulger was sacked an astounding seven times. The Panthers defense was simply relentless against a quickly sinking St. Louis team.
