Ian Scott’s Knee Woes

July 31, 2008

At training camp on Wednesday morning, three defensive tackles were sidelined with injuries, with Ian Scott’s knee appearing to be the worst, after it twisted awkwardly at the end of a play.  After an MRI was conducted, it was apparent that Scott has a sprained medial collateral ligament, something that’s not going to bode well for the entire team as they continue to practice for this season.  Scott will be out for at least a couple of weeks as he rests his knee and struggles to get that ligament healed.

A similar issue emerged with Scott last season when he had an injury to the same knee.  As a result, Scott missed all of last season.  Also sitting out on Wednesday were Damione Lewis, Maake Kemoeatu and Darwin Walker all of whom experienced varying symptoms ranging from leg and shoulder injuries to symptoms of a concussion.  Be sure to keep your eye on the Carolina Panthers and get your own pair of Panthers tickets as soon as possible.

Check Out the ESPN NFC South Blog

July 28, 2008

The guys at ESPN usually have their fingers on the pulse on the sporting world, so it’s little wonder why they added a blog feature to their regular NFL reporting. It’s not like large sports news and media conglomerates don’t already have enough of a stranglehold on information, that they have to take away the one thing that the alternative media types had: the blogs. But I digress. The fact that ESPN has some football blogs shouldn’t be too big of a worry for us here in the blogoshpere. They don’t stray too far from the regular news anyways, and there’s a distinct lack of personality to their blogs.

But all that aside, you should check it out to get some more of the Panthers information that you crave. The Panthers, being members of the NFC South, are always discussed at the NFC South Blog. If fact, not too far down the page there’s a mailbag question about how the Panthers will do next season. Apparently it all rides on Jake Delhomme’s elbow. Or, at least that’s what editor Pat Yasinskas seems to think.

The Panthers will try everything that they can to get the one up on the field, so keep a sharp eye on this emerging team.  Longtime players, Julius Peppers and Jake Delhomme are back and both are likely to enjoy big seasons this time around.  Team officials are exhibiting high hopes and fans are already lining up in anticipation of buying Carolina Panthers tickets.  You won’t want to miss their games this season.

More Activity on the Field

July 24, 2008

There is still a lot of jumbling around on the Carolina Panthers team.  Just recently the Panthers claimed tackle Charles Spencer and prevented a possible relocation to Houston and in turn they released offensive lineman Rueben Riley.  Spencer, who’s been laying off his leg after a break in 2006 will provide more beef up front for Carolina.  He is six-foot four and weighs over 300 pounds.  The Panthers are still in negotiations regarding unsigned first round picks Jonathan Stewart and Jeff Otah.

The players for the team are scheduled to report to training camp in Spartanburn, South Carolina on Friday.  This coming season will hopefully be a successful one for Carolina on the field as they seek to dominate all of their opponents.  All fans should keep a close eye on the team as they practice and don’t underestimate the strength of the Panthers on the field!  Get your Carolina Panthers tickets from Stubhub.com.

Carolina Panthers Look to Win

July 23, 2008

This season the Carolina Panthers have their hopes set high.  After failing to make the playoffs in back to back seasons the Panthers are working hard to make sure that this coming season also does not slip through their hands.  Fans are currently embracing the return of quarterback Jake Delhomme from elbow surgery.  The team the Panthers will field this weekend is much better than the one that finished 7-9 last season.  This is no guarantee of course, so the Panthers will look to hone their skills on the field.

All Panthers fans should look forward to this coming season as there are many new team members added to the team.  The Panthers have significantly upgraded for this season and hopes are certainly high for this football team.  Tell all of your friends and football buddies and hurry to buy your own pair of Carolina Panthers tickets from Stubhub.com.

Carolina Panthers 2008

July 22, 2008

The Carolina Panthers training camp is about to begin with report dates for the rookies and veterans scheduled for the same day: July 25.  They will be practicing their moves at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  A famous name that is being thrown around the locker room of the Panthers is that of Brett Favre.  Favre could bring a certain amount of experience and talent to the team.  If Favre is not recruited by the Panthers their fate for this season could rest in the more inexperienced hands of Brett Basanez or Matt Moore.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for all the things going on with the Carolina Panthers for this season.  Fans are likely to be even more interested if the Panthers decide to sign Favre, a player who would, undoubtedly be a huge asset to the team.  If you are a huge football fan, be sure to get your own pair of Carolina Panthers tickets from Stubhub.com.

July 21, 2008

The Carolina Panthers are quickly deciding just who will be members of the team for this season, as they just signed third round draft pick Charles Godfrey and seventh round pick Geoff Schwartz.  The Panthers are now just left with two unsigned draft choices.  Godfrey, according to an article published by the AP, is a cornerback at Iowa and has had 193 tackles in 47 games.  Schwartz started 36 of 41 games at offensive tackle for Oregon and helped the Ducks lead the Pac-10 in rushing.
The Panthers are hoping to perform well on the field this season and are carefully considering their picks for new team players.  Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this popular football team and check out all of the available Panthers tickets at stubhub.com.  Gather up your friends and be sure to root on the Carolina Panthers this coming season!

Some respect for Steve Smith

July 18, 2008

As SportingNews.com points out, most football players never get to see their glorious day at the Super Bowl. Many train hard, play hard, but generally go unsung, standing in the background of the star players. That doesn’t mean they don’t deserve some recognition, and in this column, five of them receive it.

One of the players singled out for some online accolades is Steve Smith, the wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers. Here’s what they have to say: “Tough, competitive and without the diva complex of other high-profile wideouts, it’s much easier to root for Smith than Randy Moss, Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson. Smith nearly got his ring in 2003, when the Panthers went toe to toe with the Patriots in Super Bowl 38, only to lose, 32-29.”

The column predicts that Smith will do whatever he can to get the Carolina Panthers their due, and that sounds right, based on his game play. Want to see him do that? Get sports tickets to a game at Stubhub.com.
