Testarverde an All-Time Great?

We have actual Carolina Panthers news from the site of this year’s Super Bowl, believe it or not.  While the Panthers may not have made the playoffs this year, and certainly haven’t been near the Super Bowl in a few seasons, still somehow we have a little blurb of news about the Carolina Panthers today.  Apparently, during conversations with Bill Belichick yesterday, Vinny Testaverde’s name came up on a list of all time great quarterbacks.

While many Carolina fans can attest to the longevity of Vinny Testaverde’s career, I’m not sure there are a lot of football fans who would put his name on a list of all time greats with the likes of Montana, Unitas, and Bradshaw.  However, it should be noted that Belichick’s list was limited mostly to quarterbacks he actually coached.  But Vinny certainly deserves his props for showing up every year and being the consummate professional.  So if Belichick wants to credit him as a top-tier QB, I’m not going to correct the man.
