Rookie Center Adjusting to Pros

June 21, 2007

The Carolina Panthers web site has a short article posted about rookie center Ryan Kalil’s transition into the pros as a Panther.  Kalil was a dominant force at the University of Southern California for years, playing on teams with many future superstars.  However, the article details how even someone playing on such a high caliber team as the USC Trojans still has to make a bit of an adjustment when playing at the pro level.  However, the piece shows Kalil to be the fast learner he truly is, and he will surely have a great career in the pros.

Kalil, being a Trojan, is almost assuredly going to rise to the occasion in the NFL.  The pros are already littered with young men who are playing at the absolute highest levels after coming out of Pete Carroll’s system - The Steelers, Saints, Bengals, and Seahawks can all attest to how quickly Pete Carroll’s boys become men in the NFL.  Now that the Cardinals have a real coach, they’ll soon be singing the praises of their Trojan QB, Matt Leinart.  So just give Kalil a little time, and watch him develop into an awesome Center for the Carolina Panthers.  He’s a Trojan.  It’s just how we do.
