Carolina Panthers Cut Nine Players

September 28, 2006

The Carolina Panthers cut nine players from their roster this week including kicker MacKenzie Hoambrecker, defensive end Kevin Carberry, cornerback DaShane Dennis, receivers Lynzell Jackson, Terrance Metcalf and Daniel Smith, linebacker Corey Jenkins and tackles Albert Toeaina and Quasim Mitchell.  None of those cuts were really unexpected but that still leaves the roster at 80 players, which means 5 more cuts will have to be made before tomorrow afternoon.

Hoambbrecker was signed early during training camp when John Kasay was nursing a sore leg, but since his recovery Hoambecker became dead weight.  During the Carolina’s recent 19-10 win over Miami Kasay hit field goals from 26, 43, 45 and 53 yards.

Carolina Panthers Tickets: What’s the hubbub at StubHub?

September 28, 2006

What’s all the hubbub about Carolina Panthers tickets?

Okay, Coach John Fox isn’t dwelling on last year’s near miss. Instead, the Panthers’ re-signed key free agents and went out and got wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson to compliment the already intimidating Delhomme-to-Smith air attack. Last year’s popular pick for an NFL title, will the Panthers deliver a year late?

The Carolina Panthers are relatively new to the NFL landscape, but have been building a tradition of winning almost since their inception 10 years ago. The team has always featured prominent players, and today’s roster is no different with the likes of Steve Smith and Jake Delhomme. And Bank of America Stadium is near the heart of Charlotte, one of America’s fastest growing cities. As a result, Carolina Panthers football tickets have always been worth the effort to obtain.

That’s why we’ve launched this Carolina Panthers blog to give you and other fans, buddies, couples, families, businesses and travelers the latest sports news and information about football ticket sales.

Who are we? According to William Grimes of The New York Times, “To anyone surfing the Web, StubHub looks like a ticket brokerage. It’s not. The company, founded (in 2000) by a couple of Stanford Business School students, is a kind of stock market where the only shares traded are tickets to live events….Buyers and sellers mingle in the marketplace and, through free negotiation, arrive at a price that reflects the true value of a commodity.”

Now that we’ve disclosed our transparent biases, may we offer a suggestion? If you want to buy Carolina Panthers tickets, it would be wise to get your hands on them as soon as possible: Carolina Panthers Tickets. Last weekend, ticket prices ranged from $16 to $3,200. And the best tickets to the best games will go faster than you can say, “Delhomme-to-Smith.”
